Overview
The Important Information Panel is a user/global configurable Details Screen Panel, where you can add common fields to reduce the complexity of navigating the Details Screen. It shows up on the far left on the Details screen when used.
Fields can applied globally, or against a variety of scenarios to tailor the panel to different scenarios, so that you can avoid or ignore the large quantity of fields unused by your business in the other panels.
The panel comes into existence when you add your first field, and disappears if you remove them all.
Actions to take
- Open a shipment and switch to the Details screen
- Find a suitable field and right click the field header, and select the scenario for the field to appear (eg Sea/Air freight fields will appear with the selection shown below)
- The field will appear (if the first selection, along with the Important Information panel) in the Important Information panel on the left side. If the scenario selected doesn't apply (such as Air Freight when on a Sea Freight) it will show this time so that you can manage it, but not show next the shipment is opened.
- Fields can be removed from the Important Information panel in the same way by right clicking the field header in the Important Information panel, they can also be rearranged using this same method
Example
Below you will see an Important Information panel loaded with several fields from the Details screen
When would I use this?
As soon as you have a good process for building shipments. The purpose of the function is so that you can recognise the fields you use in the Details screen, and ignore the others, by moving them into their own panel. Allowing you to quickly edit and validate the fields you care about and save time.
FAQ
Can we instead hide fields in the Details Screen?
Unfortunately not, this function is an alternative to that.
Can I have a different set of fields to another user?
Partially yes, when adding a field, you have the ability to have it only show for "your shipments" (where you are set as the signatory). However, you can't combine this with other scenarios (so you can't have, say, MAWB appear for you on Air freight, and BOL on Sea, you can only select Sea, Air, or You and that field will apply to one of those three scenarios (although, just to repeat, "your shipments" is shipments where you are the signatory, not your user).
