Save forms as PDF

Modified on Fri, 17 Oct at 3:00 PM

Summary

Prodoc can save forms directly to PDF files on your computer from the Forms screen.  This feature is available on version 3.33 or later.

Saving a single form as a PDF

Whilst previewing any form click the Process Document button that you would normally use to print/email/send.

The Save as PDF option will appear as a button in the window that pops up:

When you Save as PDF you'll be prompted to choose a file location.  The default file name is the same that Prodoc would use when emailing (Shipment Number + Form Name) but can be changed prior to saving.

Your selected form will be saved with the filename you selected.

Saving multiple forms together

The Save as PDF button also appears in the Process All Documents window.  When clicked, all selected documents will be saved into a PDF file, whether they're set to print / email / Cube or EDI.

When you Save as PDF you'll be prompted to choose a file location.  The default file name is the same that Prodoc would use when emailing (Shipment Number + "Documents") but can be changed prior to saving.

EDIs and attached files

When you use Save as PDF on an EDI message one of the following will happen:

  1. If you normally see a preview form, this will be saved (e.g. TradeWindow Origin)
  2. If you normally see a simplified data view, this will be saved (e.g. NZ Customs entry)
  3. Otherwise you'll see the EDI message printed as text

If you save forms and EDI messages at the same time, the EDI messages will be included in the combined PDF.

When you use Save as PDF on an attached file, the file will be saved as-is, and will not be combined with any Prodoc documents.
